"(James Badge Dale) who's a loose-cannon "Mean Streets" De Niro to...(Vincent Piazza's)...brooding Keitel. "Polish Bar" has nary an idle or dull moment." -- VARIETY
"Polish Bar is very much the story of someone who, caught in a tight spot has no choice but to "do what he's gotta do." It's an impressive drama that, as a meticulously-cast independent film, has a gritty style all its own." -- HUFFINGTON POST
POLISH BAR
A FILM BY BEN BERKOWITZ
Polish Bar is a story of faith, loyalty and family. Reuben( Vincent Piazza) is a young, middle-class Jew who is fed up with his Uncle Sol (Judd Hirsch) and the family jewelry business. He looks for respect by trying to prove himself as a Hip Hop DJ and working with his friend Tommy (James Badge Dale) at the local strip club owned by Joe "The Polack"(Meat Loaf Aday). In a world of sex, cocaine and violence he encounters Ebony(Golden Brooks) a young black girl who clashes with Reuben’s tough guy front. But when Moises (Dov Tiefenbach), his Orthodox cousin arrives, he causes Reuben to question his own actions and beliefs. Family, greed, and faith conspire against him as he struggles with the ludicrous underbelly of Chicago and his desire to make a name for himself.
